Seven of the best dressed celebrities that stunned at the Oscars

For some fans, what their favourite celebs wore to the Oscars is actually more of a deal than who actually won. The 95th annual event was held in the Dolby Theatre in LA, California on Sunday night, and as always the attendees dressed to impress.

Gucci, Valentino and Versace were just some of the big names to style the musicians and actors for 2023.

The red carpet - which was actually coloured champagne this year - is the time where fans get to see what their favourite celebrities are wearing, who styled them, and who they brought as their plus one ahead of the awards ceremony.

Here are 7 of the best dressed celebrities at the Oscars.

Tems

Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems, had everyone talking about her outfit choice last night.

The musician was nominated for Best Original Song for her work on ‘Lift Me Up’ from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The 27-year-old stunned in a fabulous white gown from Lever Couture featuring a headpiece that wrapped around the back of her head.

While some social media users pointed out those who sat behind the singer during the show probably had difficulty seeing through the billowing headpiece, her dress was certainly a stunning showstopper.

Florence Pugh

While Pugh did not receive any Oscar nominations this year, the 27-year-old actress from Oxford rocked the red carpet in a pair of hot pants.

The ‘Midsommar’ actress wore Valentino Couture which included puffy off-the-shoulder sleeves and a long train, while underneath she wore a pair of mini-shorts.

In her interview with Laverne Cox for E! Live From the Red Carpet, Florence Pugh described her outfit as, “A bit of romantic. A bit of punk. I’m wearing some shorts. I’m doing it.”

Malala Yousafzai

World’s youngest Nobel Peace Prize recipient and Pakistani female education activist Malala Yousafzai made her Oscars debut last night alongside her husband Asser Malik.

The 25-year-old is an executive producer on Joshua Seftel's short film Stranger at the Gate, which was nominated in the Best Documentary Short Film category.

Paul Mescal

The Irish actor who rose to fame on hit TV series ‘Normal People’, stayed stylish as ever in a Gucci white tuxedo.

Mescal, 27, who was nominated for his first ever Oscar in the Best Actor category for his role in Aftersun, teamed his tux with a red rose worn on the lapel and a pair of wide-leg black trousers.

The star did not win at the Oscars this time round, however, the nomination was a bittersweet moment for the Mescal family as news broke of his nod ahead of his mum - Dearbhla, who he brought as his Oscars date - beginning treatment for cancer.

Sabrina Elba

While model Sabrina Elba may have been her husband Idris’ plus one, she certainly stole the moment.

Sabrina Elba wore a chic custom made 1930s style Gucci gown that dazzled in a striking green.

She wore a sleek updo hairstyle showing off the gown's high neck. The dress also had long sleeves and a bow design on the hip.

Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal is certainly the man of the moment. ‘The Last of Us’ star hit the red carpet in a slightly oversized tieless tux by Ermenegildo Zegna.

The actor, 47, known for his roles in other hit TV shows such as Narcos, was not there for himself but as a plus one for his sister.
