Seven of Edinburgh's oldest buildings and the people who called them home

If you're a history lover, then are few better cities to visit than Edinburgh.

Pre-pandemic, tourists flocked to the capital from all over the world - many simply to enjoy the city's abundance of historic architecture.

And who can blame them, for contained within a mile's radius of Edinburgh Castle is the story of the city hewn from stone and stretching back at least 900 years.

From the 12th century St Margaret's Chapel, Medieval multi-storeys such as Gladstone's Land, to the Castle itself, Edinburgh is positively teeming with ancient architecture.
