Seven items are being axed from the McDonald's menu today - including Signature burgers

These popular McDonald's dishes are being axed from TODAY.

The fast food chain has removed seven options from its autumn menu, including some well known items.

The chain has axed the double quarter pounder with cheese, two McFlurries and three of its Signature burgers.

McDonald's has also got rid of the spicy chicken nuggets from the menu, not long after they were first rolled out.

The quarter pounder with cheese, McFlurries and spicy nuggets are all limited edition items, so it comes as less of a surprise to find that they have been removed from the menu.

But the Signature burgers news will annoy some - although Mcdonald's bosses have hinted that they will never say never to some of the items returning.

Speaking about the decision to axe the Signature collection, a spokesperson for McDonald's said: "Given the popularity of these iconic burgers and as we continually review and refresh our core menu, we have decided to remove the Signature Collection.

"We are sorry to disappoint fans of the range... which might return in the future as part of a limited time food promotion."

There is good news, though, as McDonald's is also making  some exciting new additions to the menu on September 25.

They're introducing Indian Chicken Burger - which is made with two pieces of garlic naan bread instead of a bun. Delicious.

The burger is accompanied by the French Stack with garlic mayo, the Swiss Stack with emmental cheese sauce, the Jamaican Chicken with spicy jerk sauce and the Italian Stack with pesto style mayo.

Also being added to the menu is a Salted Caramel McFlurry and a sharebox full of cheese and herb melts.
