Seven injured and man arrested after car hits pedestrians in Derby

Derby Derbyshire Police Police Royal Derby Hospital Suzuki India Nottingham

Seven pedestrians sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Derby city centre on Saturday night.
The incident, involving a black Suzuki Swift, took place on Friar Gate at approximately 9:30 pm on Saturday, March 28.
All seven injured individuals were treated at the scene before being taken to Royal Derby Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
Derbyshire Police confirmed that there were no fatalities, dispelling online rumours.
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s who is originally from India, was arrested and remains in police custody.
