- Seven pedestrians sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Derby city centre on Saturday night.
- The incident, involving a black Suzuki Swift, took place on Friar Gate at approximately 9:30 pm on Saturday, March 28.
- All seven injured individuals were treated at the scene before being taken to Royal Derby Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
- Derbyshire Police confirmed that there were no fatalities, dispelling online rumours.
- The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s who is originally from India, was arrested and remains in police custody.
