Seven foot snake missing for weeks is found - in owner's home

A seven foot snake missing since July has finally been found - in the owner's home.

Back in July, Glasgow Live reported on the huge boa constrictor causing panic after escaping from its vivarium.

The owners, who live in Newarthill in Lanarkshire, feared the snake had been let loose onto the streets when they saw one of their windows open.

However, thankfully - after a Facebook appeal to find pet snake Gretel went viral, in which she was described as 'hard to miss' - it turns out the snake has been home all along.

Kayla Strachan posted: "Gretel has been found!"

"As we thought she turned up in the house. Again so sorry to all the people who I put in a panic.

"So happy she is has been found!"

They had originally shared an appeal on Facebook in their bid to bring the pet, described as 'very gentle', back to safety.
