There have been seven coronavirus-related deaths in Bristol over the past week, which is an 1,100 per cent increase compared to the previous seven days.

Public Health England's latest figures show that seven patients died between October 20 to 26. They were being cared for in all setting across our city.

While NHS data shows five people died in four days while being treated at Bristol's hospitals after contracting the virus.

Two of the deaths were recorded at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW) Trust, which runs Bristol Royal Infirmary, on October 29 and 30.

Three people died while being cared for at Southmead Hospital on October 26 and 27.

The North Bristol Trust hospital went almost seven weeks with no Covid-19 deaths, from August 25.

Both of Bristol's hospital trusts declared major incidents last week as case numbers climbed and the city faced tightening Covid-19 restrictions.
