Setting the light

The setting sun reflects on the Ariake Sea at Miike Port in Omuta, Fukuoka Prefecture, creating a picturesque scene that attracts many tourists to the area. Dubbed the "passage of light," the natural spectacle occurs in November and January for about 10 days each time. The port is part of a collection of sites that were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2015. Visitors can view the sunset at the nearby Miike Port Observatory or along the wharf, which is scheduled to be open to the public until Thursday.
