Just when you thought festival season was over, Defected Records throws a most welcome spanner in the works.
The house music super-label is hosting Defected London FSTVL, a one-dayer with a vast line-up, this Saturday. The festival, which marks the label’s 20th anniversary, will bring a whopping 12,000 revellers together to dance all day and night (well, until 10.30pm).
As the line-up is such a big one, it’s important to choose your sets wisely. Masters of Work, Claptone, Dennis Ferrer, Riva Starr and Purple Disco Machine will surely prove highlights, so will all be worth seeking out.
New York cool cat Eli Escobar, who played a smashing set at Glitterbox at Ministry of Sound this summer, will play a feel-good house and disco set with his own twist.
If you're craving some funk, then be sure to catch Derrick Carter, a key player of the Chicago house scene and the master of soulful selections.
Crowd-pleaser Honey Dijon — also from Chicago — is a DJ and producer, but certainly also a performer. Her energetic set will be the perfect way to round off a long day of dancing.
The three sets mentioned above will all be found on the Classic stage, but make sure you check out the main Defected Stage too, as well as Glitterbox if you fancy a bit of disco.
