The day is finally here. ESPN has been teasing their latest 30-for-30 ‘Al Davis vs The NFL’ for some time now and tonight the wait is over.
It will premiere at 6 pm Pacific Time on ESPN and on ESPN+ immediately following the broadcast premiere.
Today, ESPN released an excerpt of the episode on Al Davis’s fight to move the team to LA. If you prefer not to see any spoilers, don’t watch it.
Al Davis’s battles with the NFL and its commissioner(s) were legendary. He had his ideas of how to run his football team and the NFL’s interests often seemed at odds with that. To the point where it seemed the NFL was out to get him. He took that maverick approach to his grave and the Raider Nation has worn it like a badge.
There’s the Raiders and then there’s everyone else. Al Davis was the most unique owner in all of sports and he created his team in his image.
