Set to make season debut, Chargers’ Michael Badgley trademarks ‘Money Badger’

Chargers kicker Michael Badgley is set to make his season debut today against the Packers.

Ahead of the matchup, Badgley felt the need to establish his infamous nickname. The former Miami product trademarked “Money Badger” to ensure that he had full rights of it.

‘Money’ would be an understatement to describe him a season ago. In need of finding a consistent kicker after a carousel of them years prior, Badgley was the guy they had been needing.

In his rookie campaign, he was lights out, converting 15-of-16 on field goals and 27-of-28 on extra points in 2018.

After eight weeks of being hampered by a groin injury, Badgley is thrilled to be back on the playing field.

“The way this organization has handled it and kept me around, it’s time to go out there and prove it right, and prove to myself that I can go out there and do it and help my teammates win some games,” Badgley said, per Orange County Register’s Gilbert Manzano.
