Thai stocks opened down 1.58% at the start of trade this morning.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand's main index opened at 1,798.42 points, down 28.93 points from Friday's close. The trade value was 6.58 billion baht with 679 million shares traded.
The SET50 index opened at 1,168.66 points, down 19.46 points or 1.64%, with a total trade value of 5.16 billion baht.
The MAI index went down 6.15 points or 1.15% to stand at 526.61 points with total transaction value of 111 million baht.
Analysts said the SET responded to rising bond yields in the United States and the expectation the Federal Reserve would raise its policy rate sooner.
