Sessegnon to Spurs, Bowen to stay at Hull - Deadline Day Championship storylines to look out for

The summer transfer window is almost at its end and that means Championship clubs are now frantically chasing deals to, putting the final touches on their squads.

Managers of the league’s 24 clubs have all seen their teams in competitive action following the opening weekend and they now know exactly what they need in the final days of the transfer window.

But, of course, that’s only half the battle with a number of clubs losing their top players and many more of the Championship’s brightest talents could follow suit before Thursday’s 5pm deadline, leaving sizable holes in their respective clubs.

With all that in mind, we have taken a look at the biggest Championship deals that could go down to the wire on Deadline Day.

Will Sessegnon get his big move?

Ryan Sessegnon has long been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League.

After getting there with Fulham, transfer talk died down, but now that the Cottagers are back in the Championship, Sessegnon is likely to be offered a route back to the top-flight.

Tottenham are being linked with a £30m move, but it could go to the wire if they are to press ahead for a deal.

Bowen to leave Hull?

Hull fans must be pinching themselves by this point. Many expected Jarred Bowen to have left by now, but with countdown well and truly on until the end of the window, he’s still at the KCOM Stadium.

Though, that could change with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle all linked with a move.

Bowen, who scored 22 goals last season, could well stay put, but the Tigers will be bracing themselves for late offers.

The battle for Wickham

Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham looks set for a move to the Championship.

The issue is, with which club?

A number of teams are reportedly chasing his signature with Bristol City, Reading and Stoke all among those interested.

Wickham is likely to leave Selhurst Park, but who will win the race?
