Servo Group to create 100 jobs in Leeds after health contract win

Servo Group is planning to create 100 jobs after winning a major contract working with primary care services in Leeds.

The company is now partnering with the newly formed Confederation Primary Care Property (CPCP) to provide facility management services to GP practices across the city.

Servo won the contract following an eight-way tender process and will now create 100 jobs to carry out the work.

The business will now provide planned and reactive maintenance, cleaning, waste management, grounds works, refurbishments and security services to all of the cities surgeries.

Martine Harney, Servo's facilities management director, who also led the procurement team, said: “This contract win is a real coup for Servo – we’re thrilled to have won it, and to be creating a further 100 jobs in Leeds, at such an economically challenging time.

"The environmental and cost-saving benefits will be enormous too, which is paramount at the moment in the middle of the current pandemic. Ultimately more patients will be cared for because of the streamlined measures we are to put in place.”

Despite the coronavirus crisis, Servo has continued to grow this year and is now projecting to up its annual turnover to £12m this year. It has also hired an additional five members of staff at its head office.

The company has offices in Leeds and London and its clients include National Rail, Keir, GMI, Buckingham Group, and Balfour Beatty.

Ms Harney added: “This is a major win for us, which is testament to the hard work of all our team and the fantastic reputation that Servo is gaining year-on-year. We are honoured to be able help to streamline processes for practices at such a crucial and challenging time.”
