Serving Met Officer to appear in court on indecency charge

A serving Met Police officer is due in court after being charged with outraging public decency on Hampstead Heath.

DC Dariusz Alexander, 48, was off-duty when the incident allegedly took place at the popular north London beauty spot.

Alexander, who is attached to the Met Operations Command, was charged via postal charge requisition and was due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: “The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is aware and the officer has been suspended from duty.”

The Met has also made a referral to police watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
