The Seward family asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to either the Tree House Humane Society, 1212 W. Carmen Ave. in Chicago or to Home of the Sparrow, 4209 W. Shamrock Lane, Unit B in McHenry.
Visitation for Kelly Cronin, 18, of Island Lake will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St. in Wauconda. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m. Friday in Nunda Township outside the city of McHenry. According to authorities, a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Seward was heading south on South Lily Lake Road when it left the roadway, crashed into several trees, went down into a ravine and landed on the driver's side.
Witnesses at the scene who tried to help said they saw smoke and the blue car flipped on its side. They tried to help but could not free the teens.
The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the cause of the crash, said Sheriff's Deputy Aimee Knop.
Family members have said Seward and Williamsen, both car enthusiasts, were in a relationship and planning on being married. Williamsen, who owned the Camaro but was found seated in the passenger seat, was a student at McHenry County College.
Cronin, a backseat passenger in the car, recently graduated from Wauconda High School.
