COAL trains are running to Port Waratah's Kooragang terminal again on Friday, two days after a collision forced the closure of the rail link.
The Australian Rail Track Corporation confirmed the reopening early Friday after crews worked throughout Thursday to clear the tracks.

RECOVERY crews are at work in Newcastle after a coal train derailment in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) confirmed that two coal trains "collided at reduced speed" about 5am on Wednesday.
The collision occurred on Kooragang Island inside the Port Waratah Coal Service terminal.
"ARTC has been advised that there are no injuries as a result of the incident," a spokeswoman said.
Rail traffic in and out of the Kooragang Island terminal has been suspended as work begins on recovering the train carriages.
Passenger rail services are unaffected.
A partial return to coal services is expected by Thursday evening, ARTC said.
