Serve up a tennis treat with hotel stays to recreate Wimbledon vibe

Wimbledon's iconic tennis tournament begins in days and accommodation booking platforms have reported a massive surge in searches for venues linked to the sport. Hotels.com says there has been a 270 per cent spike in tennis-themed breaks with a 72 per cent surge for accommodation within a two-mile radius of the All-England Club.

Emma Tagg, a Hotels.com brand spokesperson, said: “At Hotels.com, we are proud of our expertise in matchmaking travellers with their perfect stay, especially sports fanatics who want their hotel front and centre of their active adventure. With the biggest tennis tournament of the year kicking off, we know that this love for the sport will be reignited, and we are here to match that passion with the perfect tennis time away”.

These are some of the most popular tennis venues with Hotels.com:

Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

The floodlit court overlooks the water and is right on the beach. Following the game, enjoy a massage and relax at the spa, or even sunbathe on the private beach. Rooms from £169 per night.

Perfect for: choice of tennis courts

The Ritz-Carlton, Abama, Tenerife

Play those shots in style on one of the seven outdoor tennis courts at The Ritz-Carlton in Tenerife. After the game, cool off at one of the seven outdoor pools or sip a cocktail at any of the poolside bars. Rooms from £326 per night.

Perfect for: tennis with a view

La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, Majorca

Guests can play on either of the courts overlooking the hillside. After working up an appetite, one of the three restaurants serves up some incredible food. Take in the surroundings from the rooftop terrace or use a bike from the hotel to explore the area. Rooms from £427 per night.

Perfect for: tennis on a cliff edge

Carlyon Bay Hotel, England

This hotel is located on a cliff’s edge in Cornwall, and its courts have a spectacular view. After a smashing game, enjoy a walk along the coast or even lounge beside the pool. Rooms from £441 per night.

Perfect for: parenting time off

Ria Park Garden Hotel, Portugal

After an afternoon of on-court activity, take some time to chill by the pool or opt for a luxurious massage at the spa, all before picking the kids up. Game, set, match to Ria Park Garden Hotel, which has something for everyone. Rooms from £199 per night.
