Seriously injured man found trapped under parked vehicle in Bristol

A man is in a serious condition after being found trapped under a parked vehicle in Southmead.

Police closed a stretch of Southmead Road last night (February 3) after an incident between Doncaster Road and Wellington Hill.

A witness took pictures of a large police, ambulance and fire service presence shortly before 6.30pm.

An Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman said at 8.24am today: "We attended an incident on Southmead Road last night at about 5.20pm in which a man was trapped underneath a parked vehicle.

"Fire and ambulance services also attended. The man was freed and taken to hospital where he is currently in a serious condition.

"An investigation is ongoing."

The spokeswoman added at 12.40pm the man remains in a serious condition.
