Seriously injured man found lying on Airdrie road sparks police probe

A man has been seriously injured following an incident in Airdrie earlier this morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 8.40am this morning after receiving reports of the incident close to Stanrigg Memorial Park.

The injured man was discovered on Meikle Drumgray Road, Lanarkshire Live reports.

The man has been taken to University Hospital Monklands for treatment.

Police Scotland has confirmed that they are working to establish the circumstances of the incident with enquiries still ongoing.

The full extent of the man's injuries is not know at this time.
