'Seriously good signing' - Sunderland fans' verdict on Alex Pritchard's arrival

Sunderland fans have reacted positively to the news the club has signed Alex Pritchard on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old midfielder joins the club as a free agent after leaving Huddersfield Town last month, and has become the first summer signing for Lee Johnson's first team.

Pritchard's time with the Terriers didn't go to plan, following a £11m move from Norwich City, but fans are hopeful that the Black Cats have landed an excellent signing, providing his proves his fitness.

"Fantastic signing this," said Joe Smith on Twitter. "If he can get going again he’ll tear up this league." while Ian Crow tweeted: "Top quality creative player, get a run of games build his confidence like LJ did Wyke and add that quality to our attack."

Getting a good run of games under his belt was a common theme, with Kieran Regan messaging: "Could be a top signing if he gets a good run of games."
