A serious crash has closed a section of motorway in Glasgow for hours this afternoon.
Police and emergency services raced to the scene of the incident on the M8 at the Baillieston Interchange at around 3:10pm this afternoon following the crash involving a car and a motorcycle.
Traffic Scotland confirmed that the offslip of the M73 Northbound at Junction 2 onto the M8 near Bailleston had been shut as a result of the accident.
With Police Scotland confirming a short time ago that the road remains closed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.10pm on Saturday, 30 May, emergency services were called to the M8 at the Baillieston Interchange following a serious crash involving a car and a motorcycle. The road is currently closed.”
The news comes after a woman was rushed to hospital in the south side of Glasgow after being struck by a vehicle on Paisley Road West.
