Serious crash on London Road leads to traffic light outages

Traffic lights remain out after a 'serious road traffic collision' on London Road in Glasgow's east end.

Glasgow City Council this morning confirmed the crash, which took place in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).

As a result, traffic lights on London Road at MacBeth Street have been turned off.

The Council's Traffic Control and Management Team (TRAFFCOM) advised: "Due to a serious road traffic collision last night the traffic signals on London Road at MacBeth Street have been switched off until further notice.

"The lights will remain off until contractors can source/replace the damaged equipment involved.

"Road users are advised to exercise caution when approaching this junction.

"Further updates will be issued when more information becomes available."

No diversions are presently in place.

Police Scotland have since confirmed to Glasgow Live the crash was a "one-car road traffic collision, which took place at 3.30am this morning."
