Officers said the crash happened near the Llanedyrn exit slip road.

Fortunately, those involved only sustained minor injuries according to South Wales Police.

One lane remained closed at 4.30pm while officers waited for a lamp post which appeared to be involved in the collision to be removed.

There were queues for about two-and-a-half miles as rush hour traffic caused disruption.

Traffic monitoring system INRIX said traffic heading out of Cardiff was primarily affected.

Posting on Twitter, South Wales Police said: "2 vehicle RTC, A48 Llanedeyrn. Luckily only minor injuries. Lane 1 still closed, awaiting highways to remove a lamppost."
