Serious crash leaves four men injured after colliding with two parked cars

Four men have been left injured after their car left the road and crashed into two parked cars.

Emergency services were called to Vista Road, close to the junction of Penny Lane in Haydock , shortly before 9pm to reports of collision involving multiple cars.

It is believed that four men were travelling through St Helens in a Ford Fiesta when it came off the road and crashed into a number of other vehicles.

The driver and passengers of the car are believed to have been injured in the crash but the extent of their injuries is not yet known.

Fire crews, paramedics and police are currently at the scene and road closures have been put in place.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision in Haydock, St Helens.

"Calls were received at 8.40pm stating that a Ford Fiesta with four men on board, which was travelling along Vista Road, Haydock, had come off the road and hit two parked cars.

"The incident is ongoing and police, firefighters and paramedics are currently at the scene and providing medical attention to the occupants of the car."

Vista Road at the junction with Penny Lane has been closed and a police cordon has been put in place whilst officers try to establish the cause of the collision.

"The scene is expected to remain in place for some time and Merseyside Police would like to ask local residents and members of the public to be patient whilst our investigations are carried out."

On Twitter, a spokesperson for the force said: "Motorists please be aware of road closures in place at the junction of Penny Lane / Vista Road in St Helens due to an RTC.

"We are on scene but please avoid the area and plan your journeys accordingly."
