'Serious' crash closes road in Cardiff Bay as all three emergency services attend

All three emergency services have been called to a "serious" crash which has closed a main road in Cardiff Bay.

A South Wales Police spokesman said the force had been called to James Street on Friday evening following a crash outside a mini supermarket.

The A4119 has been closed in both directions, between Harrowby Lane in Grangetown and Bute Street, since around 7pm.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is also in attendance. A spokesman said: "We are at the scene. We have sent two appliances. That's all I can say at this time. It's a matter for the police."

The Welsh Ambulance Service Trust has also been called to assist but a spokesman said the incident was a matter for the police.

According to initial reports from passersby the incident involves a motorbike and a bus though this is unconfirmed. According to traffic data from monitoring service Inrix it is a "serious" crash.

Despite repeated requests for further information or clarification South Wales Police said they were unable to give any further details at this time, only confirming that they had officers in attendance at the scene of the incident.
