Serious concerns for Midlothian man with dementia after going missing on Christmas Eve

Police in Midlothian have issued an urgent appeal to help locate a local pensioner who was reported missing on Christmas Eve.

Officers are desperate to trace 77-year-old Ian Philips, who was last seen on December 24 in the Bonnyrigg area.

It has been confirmed that Ian, who has dementia, was last seen in the Pryde Avenue area of Bonnyrigg around 3.15pm but has not been heard from since.

According to a public appeal, Ian was last seen wearing a brown leather jacket, navy trousers and brown leather shoes.

The pensioner also has one finger missing from his left hand, and may present as confused and lost.

His family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

If anyone has any information relating to his whereabouts, or any possible sightings, please contact local officers via 101, quoting reference number 2267 of 24 December.
