A 20-year-old German backpacker who was missing for more than a week has been found safe and well.
Jacqueline Kupke had not been seen since Friday June 1 when she was at a Byron Bay language school.
The 20-year-old, who arrived in Australia on November 11, did not show up to work on Monday and was reported missing on Thursday to Byron Bay police.
Her family in Germany had told local police her disappearance was out of character and they had serious concerns for her welfare.
However, police said this afternoon the 20-year-old had been found "safe and well".
"Police thank the community and the media for their assistance," NSW Police said in a statement.
