A serious collision closed a road in Cardiff for several hours. There was a major police and emergency services presence at the scene. South Wales Police posted late on Monday night that Heol Trelai in Cardiff was closed and was "expected to remain so for some time".
South Wales Police said on Monday night: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Heol Trelai, near to the Homeguard Club. The road is currently closed in both directions from the Homeguard Club up Caerau Lane towards Alps Quarry. It is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."
Police said shortly after 6am on Tuesday that the road had reopened. People posting on social media described a major emergency services presence at the scene. In a separate incident, a road in the Adamsdown area of Cardiff was also closed on Monday night because of a crash, which a witness said sounded serious — you can read that here.
