Serious attack on man next to Bristol cycle path

A man was injured in a serious assault in Lawrence Hill.

The attack happened on Croydon Street, near the Bristol to Bath cycle path, at 4.45pm on Monday (August 10).

A witness said part of the cycling route was taped off on Monday and bloodstains were visible on the ground.

An Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman said: "On arrival, police found the victim, a man in his 40s from Bristol, had received a cut to his torso following an altercation with another man which took place close to the entrance to the Bristol to Bath cycle track.

"The offender ran off in the direction of Stapleton Road via the cycle path. This is thought to be an isolated incident.
