Serious assault probe launched after man found injured in Paisley street

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was attacked and left injured in a Paisley street.

Police were called to Clarence Street around 1am this morning and the 28-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment, before being released.

Enquiries into the serious assault are ongoing.

Detective Constable Dougie Macfarlane, from Paisley CID, said: “Thankfully, the man did not require any extensive treatment, but this is an incident that could quite easily have turned much more serious.

“I am appealing for anyone in the Clarence Street or Seedhill area of Paisley, who may have seen anything suspicious in the early hours of this morning, to please come forward.

“If you believe you may have information which could assist our enquiries, call 101, quoting incident 0183 of 10 June. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
