The incident happened around 3.50am on Sunday, October 4, when a 20-year-old man was approached by a male and female on Glenmuir Road at its junction with Glenmuir Place, when the male then assaulted the victim.

The man received treatment for a serious facial injury at hospital.

The male suspect is described as being in his late 20s, of slim build, with short black hair and a beard and was wearing a dark jacket.

The female he was with is described as small with long blonde hair.
