A serious road accident is causing traffic chaos in South Ayrshire this morning.
Tailbacks of more than two miles are being reported near the Monktonhead roundabout on the A78.
It follows a crash on the B746 Loans - A77 Monkton road southbound this morning.
A large scale emergency response is on scene with the southbound lane entirely close.
Drivers are being advised to find al alternative route if possible.
