In an official statement released via their official website on Wednesday, the Italian top-flight communicated a provisional resumption date for the 2019/20 campaign following a video conference featuring representatives from all 20 clubs.
However, plans to restart the season next month following the coronavirus-enforced shutdown remain subject to approval from the Italian government.
The Serie A season has been suspended since March 10, with Italy initially issuing a ban on all sporting events as the country - one of the hardest hit by coronavirus with over 220,000 infections and more than 30,000 deaths to date - installed strict lockdown measures to limit the spread of the disease.
However, players were permitted to resume individual training on May 4, while group training can officially resume from May 18 after the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) satisfied the government by making changes to their medical protocol.
Juventus currently top the Serie A table with 12 matches left to play as they look to seal a ninth successive league title, though Lazio are only one point adrift in second place.
Inter Milan and Atalanta complete the top four, with Roma and Napoli also occupying European qualification places ahead of AC Milan.
Lecce, Spal and Brescia currently sit in the relegation spots.
In the 2019-20 Coppa Italia, Napoli hold a 1-0 lead over Inter and Juve and Milan are tied at 1-1 after the opening meeting of their respective two-legged semi-final ties.
