Serial robber Daniel Barker's 12-year sentence cut by judge due to error

Serial robber Daniel Barker who was jailed for 12 years has had the term of a consecutive suspended sentence changed.

Earlier this week he was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court.

This was for four robberies, an assault with intent to rob, two charges of having an offensive weapon, and breaching a suspended sentence for three burglaries.

His sentence included 12 months from a suspended sentence he was on at the time for three other burglaries.

Afterwards, that term, which had been imposed consecutively, was changed administratively to 36 weeks, because the original sentence was actually 36 weeks, suspended for two years.

Barker's overall term is now 11 years and 36 weeks.

The court had heard his shocking crimes happened on Saturday, January 19, between 8.16pm and 10.40pm in Ilkeston Road and Radford Boulevard, and there were five victims.

Barker, 32, had been living at Stephanie Lodge, Radford, which the court heard was accommodation for people with mental health difficulties.
