A serial rapist who carried out his first sex attack when he was just 13-years-old has been warned he faces an extended prison sentence.
Sexual predator Edward Young was due to be sentenced on Wednesday after being found guilty of a series of serious sex attacks on women.
However, Judge Lorna Drummond QC deferred sentence for the preparation of a full report on the appropriateness of an extended sentence.
She told the High Court in Dundee that she had to look at the possibility because Young had been assessed as posing "a medium risk of committing sexual and violent offending."
Young, 35, posed as a Good Samaritan to prey on one victim while his own girlfriend was at home in their flat.
The 46 year-old mum - who had earlier fallen ill - was only aware something may have happened when she woke up naked the next morning.
Young struck having raped a previous girlfriend as well as carrying out a sex attack on a woman when he was just 13.
He was convicted of the crimes - which occurred between 1999 and 2012 - following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow. Young has now been remanded in custody pending sentencing in December.
The attacks all occurred in the Airdrie area of Lanarkshire.
The 46 year-old woman had earlier been at Young's flat with others on 11 August 2012.
She recalled feeling "unusually" sick after drinking some rose wine.
The victim told prosecutor Tony Graham QC: "I do not remember leaving...absolutely no recollection.
"The next memory I have is waking up the next day in my house."
She felt "not right" and that something sexual may have happened.
The woman immediately got in contact with her partner, who recalled her "upset and crying".
He immediately told her to call the police.
DNA linked Young, also of Airdrie, to being at the flat.
He claimed the woman had been "fine" and consensually agreed to having sex with him twice that night.
Young said he had earlier walked the victim back to her house from his late at night.
Counsel for Young, Paul Nelson, put to him: "People may think you are a bit of a rat having sex with a woman while your partner was at home."
Young: "I accept that." He said he knew he had "done the dirty" on his now ex-girlfriend.
But, prosecutors instead said Young had "taken a liberty" with the vulnerable mum.
Young had earlier raped a previous girlfriend - then a teenager - in January 2004.
This victim told jurors: "I said I did not want to do this, but he said it would be alright and I would be ok."
Young was only a schoolboy when he first struck in late 1999.
A woman was lying in bed next to her child when she became aware of being touched inappropriately.
She told the trial: "I threw myself out of bed and he said: "Are you OK?'
"I was saying: 'What are you doing here?' He was like a rabbit in the headlights."
He was convicted of two rape charges and a separate crime of indecent assault.
