Serial offender jailed for stealing while on early release from prison

A serial offender who stole from vehicles in Hamilton while on early release from prison has been locked up again.

John Allison, 42, of no fixed address, was jailed for six months at Hamilton Sheriff Court and must also serve 50 days from his previous sentence.

He admitted stealing various items, including a dash cam, from three unlocked cars in Glasgow Road, Bertram Street and Sneddon Street on September 26.

Sheriff Allan McKay heard Allison has a long list of previous convictions.
