A man claims he was conned by his ex nto paying thousands for her mother's funeral - only to later find out she was still alive.
Nigel Wainwright says he has lost more than £10,000 after meeting the woman online.
The woman is already at the centre of a storm after dozens of unsuspecting couples claim she conned them out of hundreds of pounds for their weddings.
After the claims came to light, the 49-year-old man explained how he met the unnamed woman on Tinder at a time when he was grieving following the loss of his dad, Hull Live reports
The pair soon struck up a relationship and Mr Wainwright says the woman claimed she was being beaten up by her ex-boyfriend.
Mr Wainwright started giving her money so she could leave him.
“She told me this boyfriend was beating her up so I helped her get out,” Mr Wainwright said. “I lent her money to get her out and get her into another place.

“She was supposed to be in business with him and I took loans out to pay him off.
“She was messaging and talking to me every day and making me feel wanted because I was vulnerable. I had lost my dad and he was a big part of my life.”
Mr Wainwright continued to take out loans to support his girlfriend even selling his house to continue funding her.
“She kept telling me that she was going to get £29,000 from her dad’s insurance policy and that she would pay me back,” Mr Wainwright said.
“We were in deep at this point but I just got caught up in everything. I paid for her mum’s funeral and then found out last week that her mum is not even dead.”
The truth about his ex’s deception was only revealed to Mr Wainwright last week. He has unsuccessfully tried to contact her in the days since and admits he was devastated as he thought he had found the one.
“She was supposed to be moving to Bridlington with me but the whole relationship was a sham,” he said.
“I thought this was it for me and she was saying all the right things but none of it was true. She said she cared for me and my mum and wanted to be in my life but now I just want my money back and I want to move on because she broke me.

“This was the first time I’ve ever really cared about somebody in that way and I just feel used. Everything was a lie and I’m just gutted.”
In the past few days, numerous stories have emerged of couples across the country allegedly being scammed by Mr Wainwright's ex-partner.
This included four brides from Hull and East Yorkshire who gave money to her and have since had their wedding days left in tatters.
Mr Wainwright knew she had a wedding planning and event hire business but had no idea about her deception.
He was horrified to discover how many people had been targeted and he wants to make it clear that he was not involved in the business.

Mr Wainwright said: “It came as a complete shock to me and I can’t believe how many people have been affected.
“I am just as much a victim as everybody else but people’s weddings have been ruined and I would hate people to think that I’m involved because I knew nothing.
“I’m angry because I don’t want people to think that I was involved because I wasn’t. I knew she had a wedding business and she kept saying I would be involved but I never was. It was all lies to get more money out of me.
“She has ruined so many people’s lives and I hope the police catch up with her because I just want to see justice.”
