Sergio Ramos insists he didn't persuade Real Madrid bosses to hand Zindine Zidane the keys to the Bernabeu for a second time.
France legend Zidane returned to the Spanish capital earlier this month after Santiago Solari was sacked having fallen out the Champions League, Copa del Rey and the La Liga title race.
Real, who are third in the Spanish league 12 points adrift of leaders Barcelona , were heavily rumoured to have been in pursuit of Jose Mourinho before announcing Zidane.
Zidane returned for his second spell having won La Liga once and the Champions League in three successive seasons.
The former midfielder was extremely popular with the Bernabeu dressing room but captain Ramos has revealed he didn't have a say in the appointment.

“Changes can bring about positive situations, we've had wonderful moments with Zizou and it's a joy to have him home,” he said.
“His return has been good news for all the players, it wasn't a decision I made, even if people think I do.
“I'm the captain and give my opinion if I'm asked; I've never taken command, nor have I ever wanted to."

Meanwhile, Zidane's son Enzo has explained while his father will be a success during his second spell at Los Blancos.
"I am happy, as any son with his father. I hope it has the best possible outcome," Enzo Zidane said.
"I believe in his work and I support him as always.
