Sergio Ramos breaks Lionel Messi silence as he sends message to new PSG teammate

Sergio Ramos has sent a message to his new Paris Saint-Germain teammate Lionel Messi.

The 34-year-old was unveiled at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday as he completed his move to the Ligue 1 club after leaving Barcelona.

Messi will link up with the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in what will be one of the most devastating attacking trios in world football.

But wherever you look in the team, there is star talent and Messi is one of just a few excellent signings this summer as Mauricio Pochettino's men look to secure that coveted Champions League trophy.

Like Messi, PSG also picked up Ramos as a free agent after a storied spell at Real Madrid.

One of the subplots with Messi's arrival is that his former rival will now become his teammate. The pair have enjoyed a series of battles in the El Clasico over the years and infamously locked horns at the Bernabeu in March 2019.

But it seems Ramos is willing to put that behind him as he welcomed Messi to the Ligue One outfit.

He posted a picture of two PSG shirts with their names side by side on Instagram, with the caption: "Who was going to tell us, right @leomessi? Welcome!"

Messi insists one of the main reasons he chose PSG was that their ambitions to win the Champions League align with his.

He said: "I'm aware of the objective this club has, fighting for a while to win the Champions League. It came close these past few years.

"On a personal level, would love to win another Champions League, as I have said in previous years. I think I have come to the ideal place that is ready for that.

"We have the same goals, the club has some of the best players and one of the best squads in the world, and God willing, we can achieve that goal. Paris wants it so much, I want so much, and hopefully, we can enjoy it with the people of Paris too.

"Honestly, I live day-to-day, I think about enjoying the dressing room. There are a lot of guys there I know, I have friends there and as I said among the best in the world.

"I know them and being able to enjoy playing with them to be able to achieve the club's goals and doing it all in a relaxed way and going slowly.

"I would love to be able to keep winning titles and to do it here in France, those are the objectives that will hopefully happen."
