Sergio Gomez and Julian Alvarez start in Man City fans' line up for Sevilla fixture

Manchester City get their campaign to win an elusive Champions League trophy under way tonight with a trip to Sevilla.

Pep Guardiola will be without John Stones and Kyle Walker for their opening Group G match, as they join Aymeric Laporte on the sidelines. The Blues will be hoping that Erling Haaland can translate his excellent domestic form to the continent as the Norwegian is set to feature for City in the competition for the first time.

Sevilla have been struggling in La Liga this season, as they find themselves languishing in 17th place. Julen Lopetegui's side are winless after their first four games, having lost three and drawn one.

City conversely are unbeaten in the Premier League this season, however, their most recent 1-1 draw against Aston Villa came as a disappointment after the sheer volume of chances that the Blues created. Haaland did manage to get on the scoresheet once again, yet the Norwegian would have been frustrated not to have added more to his ten goal tally already this season.

Due to the injuries facing Guardiola's side at the moment, the Spaniard has a number of choices to make when picking his starting XI for tonight.

This is how City's fans want the Blues to line-up this evening, as MEN Sport has taken a closer look at what they have voted for using our interactive widget ( see below ).

Unsurprisingly, the supporters have voted to keep Ederson in goal. The City goalkeeper has won three successive domestic golden gloves and will be hoping to keep his first European clean sheet of the season tonight.

In defence, the injuries to Stones and Walker mean fans have opted for Nathan Ake and Sergio Gomez to come into the defence. A start for Gomez tonight would be his first official full debut for the Blues.

City supporters want Guardiola to stick with the same trio in midfield as they call for Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri and Kevin de Bruyne to line-up against Sevilla tonight.

There are two changes to be made in attack, as the fans opt for Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez to replace Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden either side of the ever present Haaland.

Starting line-up City's fans want to see vs Sevilla: Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Ake, Gomez; Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Haaland, Alvarez.
