Sergio Aguero reveals when transfer decision will be made amid Chelsea links

There is already a lot of interest in Sergio Aguero this summer, something that is understandable given that he is one of the most prolific and successful strikers in Premier League history.

He may be moving on from his beloved Manchester City when his contract runs out after the Champions League final on May 29, but he still has what it takes to perform at the highest level, and he proved that much when he scored two goals in his farewell appearance at the Etihad Stadium against Everton on Sunday.

There is, of course, a strong possibility that he may move back to Spain to play for Catalonian giants Barcelona, especially as they bid to turn their fortunes around after finishing third in LaLiga this season - a poor season by their standards.

However, Chelsea are in need of another goalscorer, and a free transfer has been rumoured since it was announced Aguero was leaving the north west. When you consider you’re paying very little – wages aside - for a player of his pedigree, it appears a win-win.

Amid that interest from the top clubs, Aguero was questioned about his future by Sky Sports.

“It’s so strange because I don’t want to say nothing about the club because when I came here, I had a lot of respect,” he said.

“I want to say thank you the Manchester City fans and my team-mates because they helped me all the time, every day, every single training session.”

He may have given little away about a potential destination, but Aguero did indicate that he will make a decision in the near future.

“Just two weeks more and then I will decide where is the next step,” he added.

Time will tell where said ‘next step’ is, but many Chelsea fans will be hoping that he may prefer to stay in England for just a few more years.
