Sergio Aguero makes decision on his next club after Man City

Sergio Aguero has reiterated his desire to return to boyhood club Independiente once he brings an end to his spell with Manchester City .

The Argentine star left Independiente as a teenager in 2006 to join Atletico Madrid before making the switch to the Premier League five years later.

Aguero has gone on to star at City, helping them win four Premier league titles including scoring the dramatic last-gasp winner in their 2011-12 triumph.

The striker has recently returned to the international fold for Argentina after underwhelming performances at the 2018 World Cup saw him dropped by his country.

The 30-year-old has made no secret of his plan to return back home before he hangs up his boots for good, and he once again made clear his intention to play back home.

"I always try [to get back to Argentina]," said Aguero, whose current contract with City expires at the end of the 2021 campaign.

"I know what the fans [of Independiente] want, but I have a contract with City and I try to focus on these two years I've got left.

"Then I'll see what I'll do but of course, the Rojo [Independiente] is my priority."

Aguero, who scored 21 Premier League goals in 33 appearances for Manchester City this season, had been in international exile since after last year’s World Cup in Russia, when Argentina crashed out in the last 16.

And he has happy to have returned to the international fold, having enjoyed a successful season at City.

“In all the competitions, this was the year I have been at my best condition physically," he added.

"I didn't have that many injuries... I only lost a week and a half in the whole year.

"For me it was fundamental to end the year the way I did and now I'll try to keep in the same shape with the national team.

"When you're not called up you imagine the worst, but I tried to do things right at my club, not thinking about it. Thank God, for my form and for the way I ended the season, I'm here today."
