Manchester City are now well and truly one of the big boys of the Premier League and a lot of that comes down to the top players they have acquired over the last decade or so.
So naturally when the BBC decided to start a debate on who is the best foreign Premier League player of all-time, some of Man City ’s current stars came to the fore.
Pundits including Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton have decided City players Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva all deserve a nod.
Shearer, for one, is an admirer of Aguero and also had kind words for Vincent Kompany, though he wonders what could have been with the Belgium international had he not succumbed to injuries over the years.
“I am a huge fan of Aguero. Even when Pep Guardiola came into Manchester City, all we kept hearing was that he had to change his game, he did not work hard enough and was not one of Pep's players. He has managed to do that and kept his goals ratio very high,” Shearer said of Aguero.

On Kompany, Shearer added: “He played in midfield when he first arrived and has been a fantastic player for Manchester City. He won three titles and has made 260 appearances. It would have been so many more but for his injury struggles.”

Former Blues’ keeper Peter Schmeichel is also on the list but clearly for his efforts while playing for Manchester United.
