Sergio Aguero has Premier League goals record legends Henry, Lampard and Cole in his sights

Sergio Aguero had another landmark season with Manchester City, establishing himself as the top goalscorer in the club’s history.

But the Blues ace now has three other Premier League legends – Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard and Andy Cole – in his sights as he guns for more glory.

The Blues striker, who still has two years left on his contract, is now way out on his own as the club’s record goalscorer, after stretching his tally to 231 goals in 338 appearances for the Blues.

That makes Aguero easily the club’s leading goalscorer, with Eric Brook’s 177 total overhauled the season before last.

And last season he became the most prolific league goalscorer, edging past the previous best 158 racked up by both Brook and Tommy Johnson, finally reaching 163.

But Aguero is not intending to stop there. He is currently sixth on the list of all-time Premier League scorers with 164 goals, and barring injury and serious loss of form he should overtake former Arsenal hero Thierry Henry (175) and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard (177).

And if he hits his average league tally of 29 goals he will also scoot past former Manchester United – and City, of course – star Andy Cole on 187.

That would put him in the all-time Premier League top three and set him up nicely for what is expected to be his final season at City, when he could overhaul second-placed Wayne Rooney’s 208.

The prospect of him catching leader Alan Shearer, who netted 260 in 14 seasons, is not realistic unless Aguero really cuts loose!

Another 21 league goals would also see him past Rooney’s record of most league goals for one club – he scored 184 for United.

Five goals in the FA Cup would see him past Fred Tilson’s City club record of 22 in the competition.

And if he bags one more Player of the Month award, he will go out on his own as the top winner of the trophy – he is currently tied with Steven Gerrard and Harry Kane with six apiece.
