Sergio Agüero and Stevan Jovetic sat out Manchester City’s training session on Monday morning, casting doubt over their availability for Tuesday’s crucial Champions League game with Bayern Munich.
Agüero and Jovetic each started Saturday’s 2-1 win over Swansea City. But after being part of the main group who listened to Manuel Pellegrini give a brief talk, they walked off the training pitch at the new City Football Academy.
They were joined by David Silva, Edin Dzeko, Matija Nastasic and Aleksandar Kolarov though these players were already carrying injuries.
While it may have been a precaution for Agüero and Jovetic not to train – each was in kit so may have been doing some work inside – if they do prove unavailable along with Dzeko it would leave Pellegrini with no strikers.
City only have two points with two games in Group E remaining so need to beat Pep Guardiola’s team and then Roma and hope other results fall their way.
