Sergej Milinkovic-Savic set to be unleashed on Scotland as Serbia's powerhouse star freed from Covid curbs

Powerhouse Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been cleared to face Scotland as sneaky Serbia wriggled out of strict coronavirus curbs.

The Lazio midfielder looked set to miss Thursday's Euro 2020 play off final due to new Covid-19 restrictions placed on players travelling out of Italy for international duty.

Milinkovic-Savic had already travelled to Serbia by the time the rules came into force on Sunday night having used used a loophole to get out of Italy.

Talks took place on Monday to decide whether he'd be allowed to play in the fixture - and now the 25-year-old has been given the news he was waiting for.

It's believed Lazio have confirmed to the national team camp that Milinkovic-Savic won't be sidelined and is free to line up against Steve Clarke 's side.

The new restrictions caused a degree of havoc with Serbia's plans and uncertainty remains over other players.

Inter Milan's Aleksandar Kolarov has also been cleared to join the team but he faces a race to be fit after picking up an injury.

Discussions are ongoing over Fiorentina stars Nikola Milenkovic and Dusan Vlahovic.
