Sergej Milinkovic-Savic hails 'special' Celtic Park as Lazio star makes vow

Serbian superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is relishing the prospect of starring on the "special" stage of Celtic Park.

The noise inside the Glasgow arena will reach deafening proportions as Lazio come calling on matchday three of the Europa League.

Milinkovic-Savic respects Celtic and their fans but insists he will not be intimidated by the raucous atmosphere.

There are suggestions the Serie A giants could rest players as they place greater significance on the league.

But midfielder Milinkovic-Savic insists he’s coming to Scotland hell-bent on securing victory.

He said: "Celtic are top of the group for a reason - nothing is down to luck.

"The fact they are top means we have to take this game very seriously.

"It is still a very open group - but after these two games against Celtic you would expect the group to have taken some real shape.

"It is still for anybody to win the group, it is still for anybody to qualify."

Milinkovic-Savic was set for a £90million move to Manchester United in the summer, only for the deal to fall through as Paul Pogba remained at Old Trafford.

And the 24-year-old big-game player is adamant 60,000 screaming Celtic fans won’t faze him.

He added: "The game at Celtic will not be an easy one - and I am ready for a big atmosphere.

"To play in special stadiums, in big atmospheres is part of the joy of playing in Europe.

"It is not something to be nervous of - but something to be excited by."
