Sergej Milinkovic-Savic agent rubbishes 'fake' Manchester United transfer comments

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent has denied he claimed the Lazio player wants to make the move to Manchester United following reports from Italy.

The Lazio midfielder is a name that has been continually linked with United for some time now. The 27-year-old was touted for a move to Old Trafford back in 2019, and his name has cropped up on a regular basis ever since.

With United in need of bolstering their midfield this summer, Milinkovic-Savic's name has cropped up on their radar again this summer. With Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba among those looking set to leave at the end of the current season, the middle of the park is set to be a priority transfer area for incoming manager Erik ten Hag.

It remains to be seen whether Milinkovic-Savic will be an option for United again this summer, although reports in Italy suggested the Serbia international had already been in talks with the club over a potential move. Foot01 carried quotes attributed to the player’s agent Mateja Kezman in which it was suggested they had been speaking to United and Paris Saint-Germain, with Milinkovic-Savic favouring a move to Old Trafford.

Kezman though has now denied he ever such remarks. The former Chelsea striker slammed the reports as he dismissed suggestions of any talks taking place.

Kezman told Tuttojuve : “It's fake news. I have never given interviews in the last period, some journalists are really incredible!

“I'm very angry, it is a lack of respect towards me, towards Sergej and Lazio.”

United have been linked to plenty of names as they look to bolster their midfield options this summer, with Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips among those touted. Milinkovic-Savic’s name is also likely to feature a lot, although reports of discussions taking place with United look to have been premature.
