Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain after testing positive for Covid-19, his club have confirmed.

The Bundesliga leaders said the 25-year-old was self-isolating at home following the positive test and was “doing well”.

Gnabry was a 72nd-minute substitute in Bayern’s 1-0 win over title rivals Red Bull Leipzig on Saturday, with Eric Choupo-Moting, Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman starting in the club’s forward line alongside Thomas Muller.

Striker Robert Lewandowski has been ruled out of both legs of the quarter-final with a knee injury suffered while on international duty with Poland.

PSG, who were defeated by Bayern in last season’s Champions League final, have also been hit by positive Covid-19 tests and will be without Marco Verratti and Alessandro Florenzi for the tie.
