Serge Aurier hits back over lockdown breach as Monaco ace opens the door to Tottenham transfer

Here is the Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Thursday, May 21.

Spurs target offers his view over potential move

Reported Tottenham target Guillermo Maripan has admitted he’s always wanted to play in the Premier League.

Maripan has played 20 times in Ligue 1 for Monaco this season and has even chipped in with two goals from the centre-back position.

The Chilean defender has also been linked with a move to West Ham United and has now revealed his love for the English top-flight.

“Personally, I have always liked the Premier League a lot,” Maripan said to Chilean outlet Al Aire Libre.

“I have always wanted to play there, so I am aiming there.”

Aurier responds to latest lockdown breach allegations

Tottenham defender Serge Aurier has responded to the latest allegations thrown at him for breaking lockdown rules.

Aurier has already been in trouble for lockdown breaches.

The latest incident follows Aurier posting a photo of himself and his hairdresser in very close proximity after the defender had his haircut.

However, the Spurs defender took to Instagram to respond to the latest allegations after the club revealed they would investigate the matter.

The former Paris Saint-Germain defender said on his Instagram story: "My hairdresser is negative and me too, so stop talking in a vacuum and put on masks and gloves when you come to take pictures at the training centre.

"It’s part of the rules too.”

Vertonghen considering move to Spain

Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen is expected to leave the club in the summer and is said to be considering an offer from Spanish side Real Betis.

Spurs have already been looking elsewhere for a central defender, with Vertonghen expected to leave once his contract expires.

Italian sides Roma and Inter Milan are believed to be admirers of the 33-year-old, and likewise Valencia.

However, Betis seem to be front-runners, according to the Daily Star, and have already made an offer to sign the Belgian defender.
